CRTC updates public-interest participation cost rates for telecom proceedings

Telecom Regulatory Policy CRTC 2026-201 increases the professional fee rates available in eligible telecommunications costs applications by 45.44% compared with the rates last reviewed in 2010. The policy sets a standard $75,000 limit per applicant, per proceeding, with a pre-approval exception in certain longer proceedings.

This may be relevant to organizations representing Canadian Video Relay Service users in future CRTC proceedings. Cost awards are assessed by the CRTC, not automatically provided; the policy does not mean CDTA has received funding.
